Our Mission

At YSLL, our mission is to develop the next generation of STEM leaders—youth who are not only technically skilled and ambitious, but also guided by ethics, empathy, and a sense of global responsibility. We believe that scientific advancement is not just about innovation—it’s about intention. Whether addressing disease, food insecurity, or environmental threats, science must serve humanity. That’s why YSLL integrates STEM learning with leadership training rooted in character, integrity, and the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Our students don’t just explore science—they explore its purpose. We challenge them to ask not only what can be done, but what should be done, and to lead with both conscience and courage. In a world where scientific tools can either heal or harm, YSLL is committed to shaping leaders who will always choose to build a better, more sustainable future—for all.

Our
Story

Founded in 2023 as an annual forum for Southern California high school innovators, YSLL quickly became the flagship summit uniting STEM—from Earth and Space Science to Health and Life Sciences, Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence—with the UN's 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Our student-led panels and collaborations with esteemed professors sparked a movement of leadership, innovation, and global sustainability.

Following our transformative 2024 event, we expanded into a year-round organization. As we plan for the 2025 YSLL Seminar, we are also launching new community service events to empower our members to give back. Today, YSLL is a dynamic hub where rigorous STEM education meets meaningful community engagement, paving the way for the next generation of change-makers—one seminar and one service event at a time.

Student Team.

We come from all over Southern California, but are united by the common goal to promote sustianability.
